The Tusacan Coast & The Isle of Elba

In Italy we will stay at the 3* Hotel Gemma del Mare at Marina di Pietrasanta. This is located approximately 800 metres from the sea front. All rooms have private bathrooms, air conditioning, telephone TV. Hotel features include restaurant, bar, terrace and garden area. With dinner each night the hotel includes approximately ¼ bottle of wine and limited mineral water.

‘Overnight’ hotels are family run or city style.

Day 1
Departure from your chosen pick up point and travel to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the Continent. After clearing Customs formalities we continue our journey through France to our overnight hotel where accommodation is reserved on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2
After breakfast we continue to make our way to Italy and the resort of Marina di Pietrasanta. Here the next 5 nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation is reserved. Dinner and overnight.

Today has been left at leisure to relax after your journey, perhaps explore the local area and catch a little Italian sunshine!

Day 4
Today we have included an excursion to the Isle of Elba. Situated off the Tuscan coast, Elba is the third largest of Italy’s islands. You will find un-spoilt rugged scenery, beautiful beaches and a pleasant Mediterranean climate. Sample some of the local delicacies in one of the cafes or restaurants or perhaps visit the Villa di Mulini, the house in which Napoleon was famously exiled, now a popular tourist attraction

Our included excursion today takes us to visit Cinque Terre. This area consists of 5 beautiful villages that literally cling to the coastline. The villages remain un-spoilt and offer an insight into how life used to be. A local guide will join us. During the day we take in Manarola and Riomaggiore. This is the oldest village in Cinque Terre. From here we take the local train to Monterosso, renowned for its beautiful beaches. We then take the boat crossing to Vernazza. From here we take a train back to La Spezia where our coach will be waiting to return to the hotel. The day will also include a visit to La Via del l’Amore, (Love Path – a pedestrian street in Manarola)

Our final included excursion will take us firstly to Lucca an ancient Mediaeval Tuscan city – one of Tuscany’s best kept secrets with a pretty maze of cobbled alleyways: Afterwards we will travel to Pisa, home to the iconic ‘leaning tower’.

Check out of the hotel following breakfast and commence our journey home. We will make our way to our overnight hotel where once again accommodation is reserved on a bed and continental breakfast basis.

Day 8
We continue our journey to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the UK and onwards back to your local area.

2 nights Bed and continental breakfast accommodation en route - one outward, one return. Hotels family run or city style.

5 nightd dinner bed and breakfast accommodation at the 3* Hotel Gemma del Mare. with a quarter bottle of wine and limited mineral water during dinner each evening.
