    Your Itinerary

    Day One
Departure from selected local pick up points and travel to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the Continent. We continue to make our way through France/Germany to our overnight hotel where accommodation has been reserved on a bed and continental breakfast basis.

    Day 2
After breakfast we continue to Switzerland and the resort of Sarnen. Here accommodation has been reserved for the next 5 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Hotel Krone.

    Day 3

After breakfast we have an excursion to unquestionably one of Europe's most charming cities, Lucerne with its fascinating history and monuments. The centre is a pedestrian area of cobbled streets bordered by houses, shops and hotels painted in medieval style or decorated with displays of flowers. Above the old town is the original city wall from which you can admire the splendor and variety of the scenery. Lucerne is ideally situated in the historic and scenic heart of what many believe to be the 'true' Switzerland - picture mountains, lakes, cowbells, alpine villages and meadows full of edelweiss. We have included a half day guided tour. In the afternoon we enjoy a guided tour of the famous Glasi Glass Factory in Heigiswil

    Day 4

Today we have one of the highlights of the holiday as we set off to Lauterbrunnen to board the Jungfraubahn – a cog wheel train. Sit back and relax as the train begins the climb through some spectacular mountain scenery, passing the between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks to the winter ski resort of Wengen at the foot of the Jungfrau, 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen valley at an altitude of 1274 m. From here we climb to Kleine Scheidegg located at the foot of the Eiger Monsch and Jungfrau Mountains. Make the most of your free time to get some spectacular photos before returning via the beautiful alpine resort of Grindelwald.

    Day 5

Our excursion today take us on yet another spectacular train journey from Gstadd over high mountain passes and through traditional Swiss mountain villages to Montreux which nestles in a sheltered Lake Geneva bay, surrounded by vineyards and against the breathtaking backdrop of snow-covered Alps. The Montreux Jazz Festival, which takes place in June/July and features concerts on a variety of stages and parks is very famous. Here you will have some free time to spend as you wish. The long, flower-bordered lake promenade is the perfect location for a stroll or a coffee stop.

    Day 6

Our final included excursion takes us to the quaint capital of Switzerland – Berne. The Mediaeval centre is a charming mix of covered promenades, gothic cathedrals, towers and fountains. During a city tour you will experience the highlights of Berne. Wander through the pretty streets and explore to your heart’s content before returning to the hotel during the late afternoon.

    Day 7

After breakfast, sadly it is time to bid a fond farewell to Switzerland as we commence our journey home. We will make our way to our overnight hotel where accommodation is reserved once again on a bed and continental breakfast basis.
