    All hotels used in France are good quality. All rooms are reserved with private bathrooms etc. and hotel features will include restaurant and bar facilities. Hotel meals will be served in accordance with your holiday itinerary.

    Your Itinerary

    Day 1
    Departure from selected local pick up points and travel to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the Continent. We continue to make our way through France to our overnight accommodation which has been reserved on a bed and continental breakfast basis.

    Day 2
    After breakfast we continue to the Aix en Provence area where accommodation has been reserved for the next 7 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

    Day 3

    Today we have an excursion to Aix en Provence and Cassis. Aix offers narrow streets winding between 16th and 17th century houses. There is plenty of history to explore. See the Cours Mirabeau. This long straight road is lined with trees and fountains and is popular with locals. We also take a trip to the picturesque village and harbour of Cassis. This lovely Mediterranean fishing village is hemmed in by soaring white cliffs and is a delight to explore

    Day 4

    Our included excursion today takes us to Les Baux de Provence. and the fortified village of Les Baux. Perched on a rocky outcrop above the Provencal landscape you can wander up through the winding streets to the ruined citadel and take in breathtaking views over the Camargue

    Day 5

    An Excursion to Avignon. Explore the old ramparts of the Palais des Papes, the famous Pont d’Avignon and the cathedral, Notre Dame des Domes.

    Day 6

    Today is at your leisure to explore the delightful city of Aix en Provence. You may like to see the Mediaeval arches of the beautiful cathedral of St Sauveur, including tapestries that once hung in Canterbury Cathedral

    Day 7

    A trip to Arles and The Carmague. Arles is a charming town with a well preserved amphitheatre and numerous other Roman and Mediaeval monuments. It was here that Van Gough painted such master pieces as ‘The Sunflowers’ and the ‘Starry Night’. The Carmargue is a beautiful wilderness at the mouth of the Rhone, dotted with lagoons and marshes. See the best of it today from the undulating plains known for their white horses, and prolific bird life

    Day 8

    Our final excursion is to Nimes and Pont du Gard – set against the foothills of the Cevennes, Nimes has an impressive Roman past. Experience some of it including the amphitheatre and the superbly preserved temple – the Maison Parree. The day ends at the magnificent Pont du Gard – a Roman aqueduct and an ancient marvel of engineering

    Day 9

    After breakfast, we commence our journey home. We will make our way to our overnight hotel where accommodation is reserved on a bed and continental breakfast basis.

    Day 10 -
    We will continue to make our way back to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the UK and onwards back to your local area.
