Our special break takes in many of the beautiful highlights Ireland has to offer. We will visit the famous Blarney Castle, catch a glimpse of Killarney and see the unforgettable ‘Ring of Kerry’. To round things off we pay a visit to one of Europe’s great capitals - Dublin City itself – with its many highlights including the legendary O’Connell Street, Trinity College, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Temple Bar plus much more!
Day 1 - We start with a local departure and head for the Welsh port where we board the ferry for the sea crossing to Ireland. After disembarking we make our way to our hotel – Treacys, Waterford, (or similar).
Day 2 – After breakfast we travel through the lush countryside to Blarney. Of course the big attraction is the Blarney Castle and kissing the famous stone, but a relaxing walk in the lovely grounds is less strenuous! From here we travel on to Killarney where there will be brief time for shopping and sightseeing. During the afternoon we travel on to Tralee where we have 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation reserved the Central Hotel, (or similar).
Day 3 – After a hearty Irish breakfast we have included a full day excursion to the fabulous ‘Ring of Kerry’ which takes in over 100 miles of beautiful scenery. We travel through Killorglin, Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen and Waterville – a breathtaking mixture of majestic mountains and rugged Atlantic coastline. Return to the hotel for dinner and the night.
Day 4 – Early morning departure today as we head north, via Limerick, to the City of Dublin. Arrival is scheduled for the early afternoon and we have a short orientation tour arranged. Afterwards there will be time for personal exploration – you may want to view the Book of Kells at Trinity College, explore the Temple Bar area, visit St Patrick’s Cathedral or browse through the shops on famous O’Connell Street – the heart of the city centre. In the late afternoon we rejoin the coach and travel on to the Regency Hotel, Dublin, (or similar), for our final night’s stay.
Day 5 – It is an early start today. We have an early breakfast before making our way to the ferry port for the ferry crossing back to the UK. Ferries usually depart around 08.00 – 08.30 hours.
