Days 3 -6
At your leisure to relax and explore this vibrant city. There is so much to do and see. Also during your visit we have arranged the following excursion programme:
- A guided half day tour of Barcelona. See the famous sights and get your bearings before spending the rest of the day at leisure.
- Costa Brava coastline and Girona - the so called ‘city of 4 rivers’ with its historic centre dominated by Mediaeval buildings. Inside the walled enclosure of ‘La Forca Vella’ you can find narrow, Mediaeval streets and historic buildings. We round off the day with a visit to the lovely Mediaeval town of Besalu. The 12th century bridge over to the town is a real landmark.
You may also like to join us on an optional excursion to the city of Tarragona - Capital of the Costa Dorada. Most of the monuments which form the city´s cultural heritage were built during the Roman occupation. The Roman Amphitheatre is well worth a visit as is the Cathedral of Santa Maria. Walking around Tarragona you can find almost everything of interest within the old city walls. The most important street is 'Las Ramblas' which leads to a great viewing point called the 'Balcón de Europa' where you can get great views of the lower part of the city . Afterwards we will visit the popular seaside resort of Salou. Price £17.95 per person
