Scarborough Turkey & Tinsel
One of Scarborough's most famous landmarks, the Grand Hotel occupies a superb location overlooking the harbour and beaches of the south bay.
Included Excursions:
- A visit to York where there will be free time for shopping or sightseeing as you wish. There is so much to see and do - The Shambles - a maze of narrow streets full of fascinating shops, the soaring towers of York Minster, which took 250 years to build, rise above the red tiled roofs of the ancient city streets. The National Railway Museum, Castle Folk Museum or the award winning Jorvic Viking Centre are all well worth visiting. (Any admission fees are not included in your holiday price).
- An excursion through the North Yorkshire Moors to Pickering with its magnificent 12th Century Castles. From here we continue to Whitby. The skyline is dominated by the ruins of St. Hilda’s Abbey high on East Cliff. Spreading out below are a maze of alleyways and narrow streets which run down to the busy quayside. You will find an array of unique shops offering local crafts including the famous Whitby Jet jewellery, maritime memorabilia and antiques. From the old town, 199 steps lead up to the parish church of St. Mary whose churchyard gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write his world famous book Dracula.
Folkestone Turkey & Tinsel
Located by the seaside overlooking both the harbour and beaches in Folkestone, with views to France on clear days - the Grand Burstin Hotel offers quality and style in relaxing surroundings with sparkling entertainment and a host of facilities to ensure a memorable stay.
Included excursions:
- A full day visit to Bruges - often described as ‘The Venice of The North’ and one of the most interesting medieval towns in Europe. Churches, elegant houses, leafy lanes, squares and tiny cobbled streets are a photographer’s paradise. Time seems to stand still in these unspoilt surroundings, where lace-makers work at their intricate craft, where you can still watch the horse-drawn carriages and taste the handmade cream-filled chocolates for which the town is so well known. (Don't forget your passport!)
- A visit to the cathedral city of Canterbury. Here you will have some free time at liesure for shopping or sightseeing.
Brighton Turkey & Tinsel
The Royal Albion Hotel is a Regency style building standing directly opposite Brighton pier. There is a restaurant and bar and the hotel will feature a 'Turkey & Tinsel' theme allowing you to enjoy the festive season early! Brighton is one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the UK. Nestling between the South Downs & the sea on the stunning south coast, it offers everything from Regency heritage to beach front cool. You will discover a fine selection of shops in the famous ‘Lanes’ area of the town, restaurants and cafes plus of course the famous Brighton Pavilion.
Included excursions:
- A visit to Arundel, a quaint town with its magnificent castle and antique shops. From here we continue to the seaside resort of Worthing where you will have some free time before we commence our journey back to the hotel.
- An excursion to nearby Lewes which nestles into the South Downs, is packed with history, charm ad character. It was the site of the Battle of Lewes and boasts a Castle, the remains of a Priory as well as Anne Cleves House.
Bournemouth Turkey & Tinsel
You will stay in one of the Britannia Hotels in Bournemouth. Name of the hotel will be advised with travel tickets approx. 7 days prior to departure. Also included is a 99p Bar from 6pm - 9pm each night.
Included Excursions:
- A visit to Salisbury which is centred on a majestic cathedral that’s topped by the tallest spire in England. Salisbury’s streets from an architectural timeline ranging from medieval walls and half-timbered Tudor town houses to Georgian mansions and Victorian villas. Salisbury is also a lively, modern town, boasting plenty of bars and restaurants, plus a concentrated cluster of excellent museums.
- An excursion along the coast to the bustling, seaside resort of Weymouth. The picturesque 17th Century harbour is an ideal place for a stroll. Attractions include Brewers Quay - an award winning timewalk journey and shopping village. Linked by cobbled streets and lanes, some of the town’s best restaurants mingle with quaint old pubs, antique shops, craft centre, tea rooms and cafes. On the quayside luxury yachts are moored alongside fishing boats and pleasure craft. Weymouth’s crowning glory is its award winning beach. After our visit here we continue to Poole Harbour.
