We start with a local departure for our journey via the cross Channel ferry or Eurotunnel to the Continent. We continue to our hotel the Mercure Amsterdam City. This is set in a beautiful location by the river and provides easy access to the centre of the city. There is a bar and restaurant and all rooms are well appointed.
On day 2 we take you to Castle Keukenhof. Enjoy the magical experience of the Christmas market. It is more than a market – it has the usual stands, stalls and chalets with things to buy, eat and drink, but also includes an ice rink, circus, story teller and a Winter Wonderland.
On day 3 we take you to the cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam. The day is at leisure to make the most of the city. Don’t miss the tree lined canals and preserved 17th century gabled houses, Explore the many museums such as the Rijks Museum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank’s house. Enjoy a cruise on one of the famous canals or sample Dutch delights at a restaurant. (Admissions not included). Our coach returns you back to the hotel. In the evening Amsterdam comes to life. You can make your own way back to see the Light Festival with light sculptures created by leading artists and beautifully illuminated buildings and bridges. ‘The Boulevard of Light’ transforms the Amstel River into the heart of the festival with illuminated buildings and bridges and breathtaking light sculptures. Make your own way back to the hotel.
On day 4 we travel home arriving back later on.
