Oban on the north west coast of Scotland is known as the 'Gateway to the Isles' and has been a popular visitor destination since Victorian times due to its sweeping bay, pretty harbour and amazing scenic views.  There is plenty for visitors to see in and around the town.  One of the most striking features is McCaigs Tower - the Colosseum type structure overlooking the town - a folly built around 1900 as a family Mausoleum.

Your Itinerary:

Our trip starts with a local departure for our journey north. Accommodation has been reserved for 3 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Columba Hotel. This is located on the north pier overlooking Oban Bay and the scenic islands. Features include a bar and restaurant and all rooms are well appointed.

During your stay we have INCLUDED these great excursions:

  • We travel south via Lochgilphead and then along the shores of Loch Fyne to Inveraray ancestral seat of the Campbells, Dukes of Argyll
  • A scenic tour as we take the road through the narrow pass of Brander and Rannoch Moor to descend to Glen Coe – probably the most spectacular and infamous Glen in Scotland – to reach the shores of Loch Linnhe and Fort William. Time for sightseeing before returning by the Appin shore of Loch Linnhe with coastal and mountain views
