Day 1 - We start with a local departure for our journey to the port for our ferry crossing to Ireland. We continue to our hotel situated within driving distance of Dublin for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains. We take you to central Dublin where there will be time for shopping and sightseeing. Afterwards we take you for a drive via the Wicklow Mountains and on to Avoca – the setting for ‘Ballykissangel’ and home to Ireland’s oldest working mill – Avoca hand weavers. We continue to the Waterford area for an overnight stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 3 – Waterford and Cobh. We visit the Waterford Crystal manufacturing facility, (entrance included), before travelling west to Cobh – the last port of call for the ill fated Titanic. We continue on to the Killarney area for a 2 night dinner, bed and breakfast stay.
Day 4 – today we take you on a tour of the Ring of Kerry. This takes in over 100 miles of beautiful scenery. We travel through Killorglin, Glenbeigh and Waterville – a breath-taking mixture of majestic mountains and rugged Atlantic coastline. Return to the hotel for dinner and the night
Day 5 – today we take you north via Listowel for a journey to the Foynes Flying Boat Museum – birthplace of the Irish coffee. (Entrance included). In 1942 the Chief of Foynes air base – Joseph Sheridan – served whisky in his coffees to a group of weary passengers delayed by bad weather. We continue on to Tarbert for the 30 minute ferry journey across the River Shannon to Killimer, before continuing our journey north for a 2 night stay on the west coast of Ireland.
Day 6 – today we take you to the Cliffs of Moher. The sheer drop is legendary. Afterwards we continue to see the stark moonscapes of the Burren.
Day 7 – continue to Galway – the ‘City of the Tribes’ – famous for its Spanish Arch which stands by the harbour. After some free time we continue to the Dublin area where accommodation has been reserved on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 8 – we have an early breakfast today before making our way to the ferry port for the ferry crossing back to the UK. Ferries usually depart at approximately 08.00 – 08.30 hours.
