The expo site will be developed as a Green City Arboretum and will consist of a variety of trees, shrubs, perennials, creepers and flower bulbs all of which contribute to a green, healthy and sustainable city. Around 3000 species have been selected to contribute to the Green City.
The arboretum will be planted in alphabetical order and each lot within the grounds will be allocated a letter of the alphabet.
Expo is set in the spacious new city district of Almere located a short distance away from Amsterdam. This will be transformed into a living laboratory and everything built will become part of the legacy for the future.
Amsterdam is renowned for it it’s cobbled streets, amazing museums and art galleries. There is a unique“buzz” about the place .You can spend the day exploring the narrow walkways or see the sights transversing the cities famous canals.
We start with a local departure by coach and make our way to Holland where accommodation has been reserved for three nights on the bed and breakfast basis at a the Holiday Inn Express Utrecht.
On day two we take you to the Floriade Expo at Almere. The day is at leisure to explore and enjoy this unique Expo.
On day three we take you to discover the wonderful city of Amsterdam with its tall gabled buildings, narrow streets and tiny bridges interlaced by hundreds and hundreds of canals. There are colourful markets, exciting shops and endless cafes and bars.
On day four time permitting we take you to Bruges. Don’t miss the churches, elegant houses, leafy lanes squares and tiny cobbled streets. Continue our journey home arriving back later on.
