Days 3-6
At your leisure to relax and enjoy your stay.
During your visit the following excursions are included:
- Zell am See and Lake Cruise
We travel to Zell am See which mixes lofty peaks and stunning alpine scenery. A cruise on Lake Zell is included so you can experience this tranquil setting. You can also take a cable car ride up the Schmittenhohe Mountain, (extra cost), or maybe just relax at a local café with strudel and coffee, (not included).
- Achensee Cog Railway
Today we travel to Jenbach to take a ride on the little steam train operated by Achensee Cog Railway. The steam locomotive dating back from 1889 takes us on a memorable journey up the side of the mountain and afterwards we have a relaxing cruise on the scenic Achensee - the Tyrol's largest lake.
-
Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest
Berchtesgaden is surrounded by mountains including the 8,900 foot Watzmann! The town centre features decorated facades, churches and a royal palace – a former summer residence of Bavarian kings. Later on – opening times permitting – we visit the Eagle’s Nest dramatically perched on a mountain top – the famed location of Hitler’s alpine hide-away. We begin with a drive up the Obersalzberg Mountain from where we catch a local post bus for the breath taking journey along the Kehlstein high road. We then ascend by elevator to the Eagle’s Nest summit from where you can see Berchtesgaden and the Salzbach Valley.
Please Note: If it is not possible to travel to the top of the Eagle’s Nest we will replace the trip with a visit to beautiful Konigsee Lake. No compensation will be payable.
Full details of the days the above excursions are due to operate will be notified to you by our driver.
Day 7
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and commence our journey home. Once again overnight accommodation has been reserved in France/Germany.
Day 8
We continue to make our way back to the channel port from where we take the short sea crossing to the UK. From here we travel back to your local area.
