Your Itinerary:

We start with a local departure and make our way to Heysham for the ferry crossing to Douglas.  Here accommodation has been reserved at the Rutland Hotel.  This is set on the scenic Queens promenade, 1 minute walk from the beach and a short seafront stroll from the town centre. Hotel features include a restaurant, bar and lounge and entertainment is provided on 2 nights during your stay.   All rooms are well appointed with private facilities, tv, tea/coffee making facilities. (Note: this hotel is not suitable for wheelchair access due to the design of the building.)  There will be a day at leisure to explore Douglas which features a whole host of amenities including an extensive shopping area and a variety of shops, bars and restaurants.

During your stay we have also included these great excursions:

  • Laxey & Snaefell Mountain Railway. Visit to the historic village of Laxey, home to the worlds’ largest working waterwheel. Board the mountain railway at the “Cottage” up to Snaefell peak, with time to take in the sweeping views of the island.  On to Ramsey, the island’s second largest town with free time.
  • Steam train, Cregneash & Peel.  Board the IOM steam railway for a 16 mile journey meandering through rolling countryside to Port Erin and then board the coach for the journey to Cregneash, the first open air folk museum in the British Isles (entry included).   Afterwards we take a scenic coastal drive visiting Port St Mary & Port Erin, before continuing up the west coast to Peel, famous for its kippers, castle and sandy beach.

On day 5 we make our way home via the ferry crossing from Douglas to Heysham.
