We start with a local departure for our journey south. Accommodation has been reserved for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Queen’s Hotel. This boasts a prime location, 200 yards from the sea front and town centre. All rooms have private facilities, TV and tea / coffee making facilities. There is a bar and restaurant and, to round things off, an indoor heated pool (subject to availability). There will be a 'Turkey & Tinsel' theme at the hotel during your stay.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- Today we board the steam train from Paignton along the spectacular English Riviera Geopark coast line, through the picturesque stations at Goodrington and Churston (non-stopping) then on through the wooded slopes of Long Wood bordering the Dart Estuary to Kingswear. A short foot passenger ferry takes you across the river Dart to the historic town of Dartmouth for some free time before returning back by coach to the hotel.
- Plymouth - known for its maritime heritage and historic Barbican district with narrow cobbled streets. Sutton Harbour is home to the National Marine Aquarium where sharks and stingrays glide in a deep tank (admission not included).
