We start with a local departure for our journey via the cross-channel ferry to the Continent. From here we make our way to the 4* Radisson Hotel Amsterdam South, located next one of Amsterdam’s beloved recreational spaces and only 10km to the city. Accommodation is reserved for 4 nights bed & breakfast in standard studio suites with tv, kitchen and tea/coffee making facilities. Features include free wifi, a fitness centre, and the cosy Keuken restaurant and bar also has canal views for you to enjoy.
On day 2 we visit bustling Amsterdam with its handsome tall gabled buildings, narrow tree-lined streets and tiny bridges interlaced by hundreds and hundreds of canals. There are colourful markets, exciting shops and endless cafes and bars.
On day 3 we take you through the Dutch countryside, past windmills, canals, and bulb fields en route to the dazzling Keukenhof Gardens, (admission included). In the centuries old castle park, you will see thousands of flowers. There are a whopping 6 million bulbs blooming every year to form a sea of flowers. As well there are water displays, flowering shrubs, floral works of art, themed gardens and pavilions packed with flower arrangements.
On day 4 - A full-day coach tour introduces travellers to the tranquil beauty of the Dutch countryside. The journey begins in historic Edam, where cobblestone streets echo with cheese-making traditions. Here, one can indulge in authentic Edam cheese paired with local wines.
By noon, the maritime allure of Volendam beckons. Overlooking the vast Markermeer, Volendam offers a blend of seafood delicacies and maritime traditions. A short stop in Monnickendam provides a peek into the unspoiled charm of Dutch life, away from the usual tourist trails.
The day culminates at Zaanse Schans, a living museum of windmills and Dutch craftsmanship. As the sun sets, the tour draws to a close, leaving visitors with memories of serene landscapes, delectable tastes, and the rhythmic dance of windmill sails against the sky. This excursion is a testament to the simple, profound beauty of the Dutch countryside, a journey worth treasuring.
On day 5 we return home arriving back in the evening.
