We start with a local departure for our journey via the ferry to Ireland. On arrival we make our way to the family run Murphy’s Hotel for 4 nights set in the heart of the town near the shops and pubs. Features include a restaurant and bar with music/entertainment during your stay.
During your stay we have included these great excursions:
- Cong & Westport – Visit to the picturesque village of Cong, where the Oscar winning movie, The Quiet Man was filmed and enjoy a guided walking tour. Continue to Westport a grand Georgian town home to a heritage centre, stone bridges linking a tree-lined promenade on the banks of the Carrowbeg river.
- Rose of Innisfree & Sligo – We head to Parke’s Castle to board the Rose of Innisfree boat for a scenic cruise on Lough Gill. Afterwards free time in Sligo town.
- King House & Carrick-on-Shannon – We visit King House, an architectural treasure that later became a military barracks. We continue after to Carrick-on-Shannon, a riverside town home to the tiny Costello Chapel, believed to be the smallest chapel in Europe.
